Back from (mini-)Vacation

My sockapalooza sock on vacay

Simply put, Mystic*, CT = Awesome.

In a few more words, we had a lovely time. Stayed at a wonderful b&B, took in the sights and sounds of Mystic Seaport, had some *real* good eats (lobstah rolls, clam chowdah, and some Mystic Pizza** pizza), and lost some money at Foxwoods. Huh, that part isn't all that lovely now that I think about it. . .

I was too busy having fun to get any real knitting in. Just a couple of more inches on the cuff of my sockapalooza sock.

on the home stretch

I should be done with these socks by the end of the week. And then I'll actually have an FO post on this here blog. Fo realz. It's been a while, no?

Till then, you can peruse through my vacation photos, if you so choose.

*Like, did you know that the town of Mystic doesn't really exist? It's actually just one half of the town of Groton (west of Mystic River) and the one half of the town of Stonington (east of Mystic River). I don't know if I can look at the world the same way again. Visiting a town that I thought was a town only to find that it really isn't a town after all and such. . .

**Official Motto: We have more framed pictures of Julia Roberts hanging all over the danged place than *anyone*!!

So that means that, although I've been to Mystic, I haven't actually been there? Weird!

Your trip looks like it was lovely! I will have to keep Mystic/not-Mystic in mind for future jaunts.

Sounds like a wonderful little gettaway, despite the fact that it changed your view of the world - I had no idea it didn't really exist.

that official motto is HILARIOUS. so is the mystic pizza as good as they make it seem in the movie? ^_^

Ooh, a mini-vacation! That's what summer is for! (Well, that and long vacations, but who gets those anymore?).

we had so much fun in mystic, too! seems soooo far away from new york. (we didn't get any of the pizza, tho.)

Looks like you had a great time! And I didn't know Mystic wasn't a real city. I'm a little disappointed! ;)

Le sigh. I miss Mystic. I'm from CT and it's one of my fav spots. Glad you had fun. Isn't Stonigton just the cutest?

Oh, I've always wanted to go to Mystic/not-Mystic! Welcome back. Your sock pal socks are even more stunning than the last time I saw them. :)

Looks like a wonderful weekend by the sea!

Ha! Mystic (or rather, Groton) is the next town over from me! It's an awesome place to go...and yes, the city that doesn't really exist is very proud of it's connection to Julia Roberts....did you get ice cream near the draw bridge?

I love mini-vacations! I never know where to go, though. Yours sounds fantastic. Love the sock! It looks very relaxed and happy.
