It's like one million degrees. . .
. . .it's like one billion degrees. It's like one trillion degreeeeees! From the hot parking lot to the sand that is not so coooool!*
Yes, it is very, very, very hot. I don't have a Coolatta to offer you but hopefully these will help distract you from the heat.
Pattern: Some coma-inducing stockinette sock pattern I made up. Casted on 44 stitches, did 2x2 ribbing for the cuff, stockinette, generic slipped stitch flap heel, some more stockinette and Ta da!
Yarn: One skein of Sweet Georgia Speed Demon sock yarn in "Fondant"
Needles: US 5 circular needles (Addis)
For: Moi

And good lord, remember these??
Pattern: Gentleman's Plain Winter Socks from Knitting Vintage Socks
Yarn: Lorna's Lace Shephard Sock yarn in "Bee Stripe"
Needles: US 1 (both dpns and 32' circs)
For: The Boyfriend
Not one but TWO socks, yippee!
The first pair of socks I busted out in a weekend. I'm quite smitten with the way they came out. They're kinda thick so I couldn't do my usual shoe + sock shot (the horror!!!!) in them. But still, they're so pretty and girly and nicely subdued and not IN YOUR FREAKIN' FACE. It's a nice change of pace, I think.
As for the yellow and black socks, I hadn't touched those in about two months until this weekend. Till then, I hadn't even gotten to the heel of the second sock. However, after I got hooked on The Magic Loop, I just popped in this movie and busted out the majority of the sock in one sitting. I figured myself to be a fast knitter on dpns but this is getting ridiculous. I feel like a superhero, almost. Wow.
Some more pics to look through:
*found out recently that these guys were behind that jingle. Neat.

Those Bee Stripe socks are fantastic! I am never able to get Lorna's Laces to actually stripe, even if it's the ones with only two colors. The heel on those is really cool and different looking. I need to get that book. The Fondant socks are so cool and the colors are so icing-esque.

I think you have a sock-knitting addiction...
Those bee stripe socks look totally rockin' with those shoes...much better than they'd look on stinky boy feet. *arches eyebrows* I won't tell if you keep them.
