I May Be Knitting A Sock

. . .should be the new name of my blog. Except take out "May Be" and replace it with "Am Most Definitely"

And you thought that my last post was the last you were going to see of my sexy, sexy legs, didn't you? Silly.

So I asked my Spidery pal, Jess (visit her Etsy shop!) to whip up a special New York Mets colorway just for me and boy, did she deliver.

Self-striping goodness, four rows at a time.

The pattern I'm using is the "Lichen Ribbed Sock" from Knitting Vintage Socks, btw.

Also, I've been doing some inventory on my stash and I have ungodly amounts of sock yarn. I'm gonna try to get rid of some in the upcoming weeks, so I can make some room for, ummm, more sock yarn. But in way different colorways, you see.

And as if I don't have enough on my knitting plate, I decided to take part in. . .

. . .next month.

OK, my plans for the immediate future goes as follows: 1) finish McDreamy Jaywalkers by the end of this week. 2) Get as much done on my Mets socks before the start of Sock Wars 3) Do my darnest to be the last sock knitter standing 4) Finish up the Mets socks right after SW and *crosses fingers* before the end of the baseball season.

Hmmm, something tells me you won't be seeing mention of this for a very long time.

So completely jealous of your Mets color sock yarn. I wonder if she'd offer up some Dodger stripes for me...

I was going to say, didn't someone just buy some sock yarn?! the mets are looking good!

sock wars? really?

Posted by: yahaira at August 22, 2006 04:45 PM

Er...not that I need more sock yarn, but I have been ogling Sweet Georgia's bee-yoo-tiful yarns since, oh, forever. Is it still available?

Those mets socks are going to be fantastic!!

Sock wars sounds awesome but I KNOW I would never be the last sock knitter standing so I will just watch from the side lines!

Jess go the Mets colors *perfectly*.
Good luck with the sock wars! I think you could totally be the last knitter standing!

oooo! Good luck on the Sock Wars, that is the coolest idea ever. I just couldn't bear to divert myself for my "next 5" projects lined up to participate!!

That yarn is called McDreamy? Grey's Anatomy reference? I'm sold.

I was shocked to see a sock without Jaywalker squiggles...

love the mets colorway! i'd make jon a red sox pair of socks but, well, they suck right about now. aren't even worthy to be on someone's feet.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe the Mets are already on the needles! I'm really glad you like it--and it seems like everyone else does too! I'm rooting for you in Sock Wars--I wouldn't last a week, but I have faith in your skills :)

Yay sock wars...wonder if i will get you as my target...

I'm doing sock wars too! It's going to be crazy!

Do you knit by magic loop?
If you do, what length cord do you use? I'm using a 24" and i'm having laddering issues...

I am in lurve with the Mets sock yarn, giving me ideas for Mr. B's next gifto.

Glad to see you're taking part in the battle too, it's going to be quite fun.
