Where troubles melt like lemon drops

Remember how I vowed I'd come back from Atlanta with at least one FO? Well, I lied, (My intention were pure, tho. That should count for something, right?. . .Tee hee) But I did get a little more than one half of the Rainbow Brites done. Here's a sneak peak.

1/2 of Rainbow Brites finito! 2

1/2 of Rainbow Brites finito! (closeup) Hooray for Rainbow socks! One more rainbow sock to go! (red toe closeup)

Don't get me wrong, I love, love, love the way this sock came out. However, my one and only complaint is that I wish Red had been more willing to join the other colors in all the chevron fun! The only two places he showed up were at the heel* (which no one is ever really going to see) and at the very end of the toe**. You're a real stick in the mud, Red. :P, I say.

BTW, on a different note, I totally forgot to mention that I had the pleasure of meeting up with Leah while I was down in ATL. She's just as awesome in person as she is online on her blog. Fo' real.

Dang, it's looking more and more likely that my yarn of the same colorway will need to become a Jaywalker! Much more fun than just simple stripes...

stupid red! but the sock looks great without it, so screw him I say

Posted by: yahaira at January 11, 2006 09:07 AM

Ooooh, pretty! Not subtle, but hey, we knew that when we picked that colorway, right? It looks great! And isn't it funny that the red also hides in the heel of my sock?...

Posted by: Veronique at January 11, 2006 10:45 AM

oh my goodness, they are fantastic. the red can be your fun little secret. don't you have a cute pair of mary jane-like shoes that will show them off?

how great that you met leah!

Posted by: carrie m at January 11, 2006 11:20 AM

how adorable! maybe you can do the second one so that you can see more red (unless you want to make them identical).

Posted by: ashley at January 11, 2006 11:25 AM

The sock looks great! It is so much fun to look at! Looking forward to the pair.

I am so in love with that sock and need to go find that yarn so I can knit my own! I think that with the colors ending up the way they did, it really looks like a rainbow. Can't wait to see the full pair!

Posted by: Sarah at January 11, 2006 12:54 PM

Awesome! I should jump on that yarn before it sells out.

Posted by: Angela at January 11, 2006 01:02 PM

sweet..I'm leaning more and more towards jaywalkers for my yarn

Posted by: Marie at January 11, 2006 01:58 PM

LOVE IT! Rainbow socks have never been so appealing to me.... :)

Posted by: Sarah at January 11, 2006 07:56 PM

Best. Jaywalkers. Ever. What yarn is that? Those are the smiliest socks in the world!

Posted by: Mary-Heather at January 11, 2006 08:49 PM

Red and Yellow and Pink and Green, Purple and Orange and Blue

Now you can wear a RAINBOW, wear a RAINBOW, wear a rainbow, too

hahahaha

I completely agree with the one who said to START the second sock with red! that would be too cool.

I am nearly to the toes on my Jaywalkers! yaay

Ooh pretty pretty. I like them.

Posted by: Pigwotknits at January 13, 2006 10:26 AM

did you use the whole skein?

Posted by: kaitlyn at January 13, 2006 03:58 PM

That is the happiest sock I have ever seen. I think it's kind of neat that the red showed up only in the heel and toe. Now you just need a pair of those tranparent clogs:

Well, I'll try that again:
