Rainbow Brites

You gotta give the people what they want. The Rainbow Brites garnered the most votes in my mini-poll a little over a week ago. And so, ta-da!

Finished Rainbow Brites
Some day the sun will be out when I need to take pictures. Some beautiful, magical, glorious day. . .*sigh*

Pattern: Jaywalker by Grumperina

Yarn: 2 balls of Regia 4-Ply Nation in color # 5399

Needles: US 1 double-pointed needles (set of five)

For: Me

So Purple decided to be all shy for the second sock. It only made a brief appearance at the heel. Oh well. All in all, this was very fun yarn to work with. I loved seeing all of the different colored stripes take form. Very cool, indeed.

Love them! What a way to cheer up your day!

Posted by: Angela at January 18, 2006 02:50 PM

Those have to be the happiest, cheeriest pair of Jaywalkers I've ever seen! I have two skeins of that yarn in my stash... Hmm. But then I would feel like a copycat! ;)

I, too, dream of the sun coming out someday to help my photos.

Absolutley lovely ~ and today is the perfect gloomy day for them. So cute with the shoes!

What a great pair of socks! Now, if you're going to hand knit socks, those are the socks to knit!

Posted by: Colleen at January 18, 2006 03:44 PM

Your socks look great! I love that the stripes don't match.

Posted by: Veronique at January 18, 2006 04:20 PM

I love it that you let them be fraternal rather than identical ... I have already made a pair of plain stockinette socks with this yarn, but I am so tempted to make another pair with the Jaywalker pattern! They look fabulous!

Posted by: Karen at January 18, 2006 04:30 PM

They rock! I love them. I like them with the mary-janes particularly. And BTW, thanks for your encouragement on knitting socks - I'm going to forge ahead with my second pair soon. :)

Those look so great Sandra! Sorry that you haven't had any sun but those socks certainly brighten up a room!!

Posted by: Leah at January 18, 2006 05:46 PM

Oh my goodness. Those are just poke-your-eyes-out adorable (*especially* with the mary janes). And I, too, appreciate the non-matchy-matchiness of them. I must be the only knitter in blogland who hasn't knit these socks yet. Give me about a year...that's when I seem to catch up on all the hot items.

Posted by: Cara at January 18, 2006 05:47 PM

oh, they're simply perfect. just beyond cute and so much fun. you must wear them on nasty, rainy days.

Posted by: grumperina at January 20, 2006 06:46 PM

Rainbow Brites *is* a good name for them! Nice socks.

Posted by: trek at January 21, 2006 09:40 AM

These are adorable! So cheery. I have been reading sock tutorials and sock patterns like mad lately. But I am terrified that I will only do one--the dreaded one sock/mitten/glove knitting curse!

Posted by: Juls at January 21, 2006 08:51 PM

LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors!!!!
Right up my alley!!
I think I may just have to give this Jaywalker thang a try...
CHEERS!

These are fabulous, rockin' Jaywalkers. I feel a stash acquisition coming on. Love all the socks you're working on -- can't wait to see what's next.

Congrat for paired socks!

Love the colorway! Awesome. I have some Regia nation, but I've never seen the rainbow variety. Great.

I think I've just found my new solemates. I adore these socks! (and rainbow brite, so i love the name, too.)

do you mind if i borrow one of these images for a Knitting Olympics button? (I'm planning to knit a pair of jaywalkers, though sadly not with this yarn.)

Oh, and the name of this blog is simply delightful. :)

Posted by: ayse at January 29, 2006 12:17 AM

I absolutely LOVE your jaywalkers!

Posted by: christine at January 31, 2006 02:20 PM

OH.MY.GOD!

I seriously think these are the cutest Jaywalkers EVER! Despite the fact that I just finished a pair of socks that made me want to pull out my hair and swear off socks forever, I just might makes these! They are just too cute for words!

Posted by: Jenn at February 1, 2006 04:10 PM

So cute! I love the colors, and how they are fraternal twins!

Posted by: Elspeth at March 25, 2006 07:26 PM

Wonderful. I've just realised I've had this yarn on ebay watch all week. Guess what I'll be making very soon! :)
