Bad blogger! BAD!

Ack, I am so behind posting on this here blog like you wouldn't believe. So many things to talk about, so very little time. Here is a quick runthrough of last week.

1) Thanks so much for your comments on the Rainbow Brites. You guys are the bestest of the best.

2) I decided to be a total copycat and casted on for the Norwegian Stockings from Nancy Bush's Folk Socks. What can I say, Eunny and Jess are just that cool. ;)

Norwegien Stocking Progress
I already turned the heel on the first stocking but I very stupidly left it at work so we're all just going to have to settle for this pic I took like last Wednesday.

3) Oh, and some time between finishing up the Rainbow Brites and casting on for the Norwegian Stocking, I managed to also start the "Angelica" sweater.

Angelica progress Angelica closeup
Not exactly the sexiest thing to look at. Blobs usually never are. The progress pics will get better, I assure you. I'm using Brooks Farm "Duet", by the way. I've said it once and I shall say it again: This yarn is absolutely amazing. It's mouth-watering, it's that good.

4) Looky, the Spiders were featured in New York Daily News. Hooray!

EDIT: 5) I almost forgot to mention that I met one of my heroes last Tuesday at the Union Square Barnes and Noble, Dave Barry!

Another thing to cross off on my
Seriously, this guy is one of most favorite human beings on the face of this planet.

Hmm, I think that's all for now. I'll try not to fall so far behind again. Now if you excuse me, my new sudoku* book awaits! Whee!

Wow, your sweater is just whipping along! I have enough Brooks Farm Four Play to knit a sweater. If you haven't tried that one yet, I can't recommend it highly enough. Feels like you're knitting with suede. Yum yum yum.

I covet those socks! The Angelica is looking amazing too.

Wow, you met Dave Barry and he called you a goddess! And you're famous now! And you're knitting so many things at once! You really are my hero!!!

Hey, when did you plan on coming up to Boston, btw? I was just thinking about how we have to meet up because it's long overdue, don't you think? :-P

i cannot *believe* dave barry called you a goddess! so cool! the socks look great, of course, and i can't wait to see the finished angelica!

LOVE that Brooks farm colorway! I'll be jumping on the Norwegian stockings bangwagon soon enough. You're not the only one trapped by its spell. (Thanks for the wonderful comment about my clapotis, too. I wish I lived closer to School Products, but it's probably good that I don't)

Hi, I just came to see if you finished you Kors top. .. guess thats still a WIP =) Nice color choice on the stockings. And i totally agree that sudoku is crack. just to be evil, there is always websudoku.com for the day job!

Posted by: lulu at January 24, 2006 04:23 AM

I love those stockings! I can't wait to see how yours turn out with those colors. Plus, you get to take fun "look at my legs!" pics!
And I, too, will jump on the Sudoku-is-crack bandwagon. A big book of puzzles and lots of gin are the only things that helped me through 5 days visiting grandma with my mom!

I am also addicted to websudoku... Your stockings are looking good! Wait a minute, if you're doing all the complicated prjoects now, what will you have left for the Knitting Olympics?!

Wow, look at you and your fancy sock! Very nice. And thanks for the link to the Angelica pattern - that is a great sweater. Hope all is well - glad to read your posts, no matter how few and far between they are. :)

You must bring the Angelica on Friday. I must fondle the Duet. I'm still playing with riffs on the Hourglass pattern for mine, but I could be sold on taking a different path if yours turns out as cute as I suspect it will.

Wow! How cool are you?! Love the sock, I'm sure it's fabu looking at the small peek you've given us. I love the colors for the Angelica, I'm imagining the feel of the yarn and you've been called a godess! I miss Union Square, I used to go to that B& N all the time, I lived right on 11th. . . ah, nostalgia.

Posted by: sedie at January 24, 2006 01:26 PM

so LUCKY! that you met Dave Barry. I've seen him a bunch of times at restaurants in Miami, but I've never gotten an autograph or been called a goddess by him. sigh

are you going to join sockapalooza? are you? are you!?

That's cool that you met your favorite person. Now if I could just meet Sting, I could say the same thing. - I don't think I'd be very cool about it though. **visions of fainting on the spot come to mind**

Posted by: april at January 26, 2006 12:44 PM

oooh, your stockings look beautiful. I'm so impressed you're taking on that project - but I can't blame you after seeing Jess and Eunny's finished pairs. have fun with that!
