I made a hat.

Pattern: "Kim's Hat" from Last Minute Knitted Gifts
Yarn: Some pretty hand-dyed yarn by Diane Rupp of make workshop fame
Needles: US 9 16" circulars (Susan Bates) and US 9 double-pointed needles (Lion Brand)
For: Lil ol' me
I apologize for the crapiness of these photos. I was all psyched that I would finally be able to take pictures this weekend during the day when the sun was out and all. But all effing weekend, it has been nothing but. . .

. . .this grey yuckiness outside. Oh, well.
I keep forgetting how easy and quick it is to whip up hats (especially on circulars). I casted on for this project on Christmas Eve and finished it last night.
I met Diane Rupp at the Bust Magazine Craftacular a couple of weeks ago. She was sooo nice and helpful. Not to mention, all of her hand-dyed yarns are really yummy. I'm considering taking a letterpress class down at make workshop sometime in the new year. I would love to be able to learn how to make my own monogrammed stationary.
I was in desperate need of a winter hat and I do think this will do the trick. Of course, it is unseasonably warm out now so I'm going to have to wait a while until I can show off this baby in its full glory.
I was going to pay homage to Sarah's sister, Heather, and do a similar thumbs-up pose (scroll down a bit) in my own hat but I couldn't find anyone to take a picture of me. :( Nuts. Maybe I'll update this post with a pic if I can find someone to bug later on in the day. We'll see.
Anyhoo, I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas!

The hat looks really nice and even. Bring it to the Point this week if you can make it!

I love the hat, I've been told I must make this hat for E but since she seems to be getting the hang of knitting on her own I think I might make her do it!

that hat is really cute =) It looks like a cousin to one I made once and named Frankenhat Monstrostenstien, because it was all very irreverant fibers. Yours looks MUCHO better!

Nice hat! I have a feeling you'll be needing it soon ~ the warm temperatures just can't last here at this time of year (wish they would!)
