Rhinebeck Booty
So I'm not going to be eating out for the next six month or so and here's why:

FIve skeins of mouth-watering yarn from Brooks Farm. This stuff is like buttah. I got two skeins of the Duet (a wool/mohair blend) in the purple-y pink and three skeins of Harmony in forest-y green, let's say (Brooks Farm really needs to think up of some names for their different colors), which is like Duet but has a smidgen of silk in it as well. Makes for a luxurious yarn with a very nice sheen.
But man, am I poor.

I also got two skeins of Socks That Rock in "Fire on the Mountain". It's very bright yarn, believe me.

I already started knitting with that yarn. I'm using the "Retro Rib Socks" from the Winter 2004 issue of Interweave Knits.

I'm not too thrilled with how the color is coming out. Too splotchy. Oh well, I'm too lazy to go back and do anything about it so I'll just stick with this and see what happens.

weird, the color doesnt look like the skein. I still like them though, in the kool-aid acid test kinda way.

Woman, you have FIVE SKEINS of that Brooks Farms yarn?! That was some power Rhinebeck shopping! I love that green colorway - don't think they had it by the time they got there or I might have been more enticed. Whatchya gonna do with it?

Hey, I'm making retro rib socks, too! Those sinuous stripes are pretty amazing, really. I knew that colorway was going to do something wild! I'll hope to see them in person tomorrow. :)

what a haul girlfriend! love the "fire on the mountain" colorway. we should put it next to my "jewel of the nile" one. they could make some wild, technicolor babies :)

The socks are turning out cool, the randomness of the color is cool for socks! I look forward to seeing how it turns out.

Did you mean you will be eating IN the next 6 months? Cause...eating out when you're poor could get tricky.

Never you mind my last comment, I totally read it wrong...I'm such a dork. Cool yarn though!

Oh me Oh my! That's some mighty fine yarn girl! My LYS is opening next week and since nothing else is open here I got lots of $$ burning a hole in my pocket. Thanks for the inspiration, because I will now have no shame in spoiling myself :)

So... any thoughts on a pattern for that Harmony? I bought exactly the same color at Rhinebeck -- it was so hard choosing! Now what to do with it?
